How Butterfly Being (trading as Dr. Julie Meehan, Clinical Psychologist) Works with Clients
Butterfly Being (trading as Dr. Julie Meehan, Clinical Psychologist) offers one to one Parent guidance sessions, online self-study courses and live courses and workshops to parents, educational and social-care professionals and staff in organisations and businesses.
Do I have access to Butterfly Being (trading as Dr. Julie Meehan, Clinical Psychologist)?
Butterfly Being (trading as Dr. Julie Meehan, Clinical Psychologist) is not engaged in rendering therapy services by providing the Site, and your use of the Site does not create any therapist-patient or other treatment relationship between you and Butterfly Being.
Do you offer emergency or urgent appointments?
No, Butterfly Being does not operate an emergency service. Butterfly Being offers an appointment-based parenting guidance service. Please contact your GP (or the ‘Out of Office’ GP service) in this instance to discuss referral to a specialised mental health service.
What is your Cancellation Policy?
For One-to-One Guidance Sessions
One to One Guidance Sessions are paid for at time of online booking (or in advance of the session if a payment plan is in operation).
The sessions will not take place unless payment has been made in advance.
If you need to cancel a pre-paid session with more than 48 hours’ notice, please email [email protected] and we will endeavour to reschedule the appointment within a 7-day timeframe if there is availability.
If a cancellation occurs within 48 hours of appointment (or within 2 full working days, whichever applies), no refund is available. If payment has not been made at time of cancellation, there is a cancellation charge of 100% of the session fee.
For those who do not attend on the day and give no notice of cancellation and payment has not been made in advance, there is a cancellation charge of 100% of the session fee.

For Self-study Courses, Live Programmes, Events and Workshops:
There is no refund available for the purchase of online self-study courses or for live events such as live courses and workshops.
Information that will be collected:
We will also require all clients to sign a consent form confirming they are aware that Butterfly Being (trading as Dr. Julie Meehan, Clinical Psychologist) will store all notes and intake forms for 7 years at the completion of the sessions.
If, during our sessions, information that is disclosed that is covered under our Mandatory reporting obligations, Butterfly Being (trading as Dr. Julie Meehan, Clinical Psychologist) are obliged to escalate the situation further and share personal information with external parties. This will all be communicated with the client prior to the sessions taking place.
Requesting access to your records
Under our GDPR obligations, clients can request to have access to their personal data via a Subject Access Request. Please note that this request should be sent to: [email protected]
Butterfly Being (trading as Dr. Julie Meehan, Clinical Psychologist) reserves the right to consult with their legal advisors in all cases of Court orders for access to personal records and/or all other information requests.
Where other names have been mentioned through the course of the sessions with Butterfly Being (trading as Dr. Julie Meehan, Clinical Psychologist) then Julie Meehan reserves the right to redact these names on all shared documentation.
Please note that the accuracy of the information that Butterfly Being (trading as Dr. Julie Meehan, Clinical Psychologist) is holding is the sole responsibility of the client. If you change any of your PII (Personal Identifiable Information) then the onus is on you to communicate this change to Butterfly Being (trading as Dr. Julie Meehan, Clinical Psychologist).
